SEASON’S TOTAL KILLINGS FARMERS’ HANDLE 108.000 In spite of earlier forecasts to the contrary, total killings of pigs at Auckland works for the season just closing should be little different from those of last year. Last year the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing works pur through a total of 112,00 pigs, a new record by several thousands for the company. This season it is estimated that the season will close at the end of June with total killings in the vicinity of 108,000 head.

Approximately 70 per cent, of the pigs handled at the works have been for export. The Farmers’ Freezing is still handling around 1,500 pigs a week.
