The Kohimarama School opened seven years ago with 130 pupils and I three classrooms. In three years these numbers increased to 300 and six, respectively. “The departure of such a capable j master is to be deplored." said Mr. Hubber, "but our loss will be Mount Albert’s gain.” The chairman wel- | corned Mr. Kenny s successor. Mr. H. ! C. Jeffery. During the evening Mr. Kenny was j presented with an illuminated address. : signed by the school committee and by ! a number of residents. The inscrip- j tion on the address conveyed the ! thanks of the parents, scholars and committee for Mr. Kenny’s services. . Mr. W. P. Endean, M.P. for Parnell, made the presentation. An additional gift was a gold foun- 1 tain-pen from the old pupils of the j school, through Mr. W. J. Jordan.
