MISSIONARY RALLY
PAPATOETOE MEETING A rally was held in the Papatoetoe Town Hall yesterday, under the auspices of the Ngaruawahia Easter Camps, Incorporated, which is an interdenominational Christian contention, held annually and attended by members of all the evangelistic denominations. At 11 a.m. a prayer meeting took place, at which there was a large attendance. The hall was crowded at 2.30 p.m., when a monster missionary meeting was- held. The principal speakers were Mr. and Mrs. John Nicholson, who have just returned to New Zealand from the Sudan. Miss Reeves Palmer, a missionary from Egypt, also spoke. The opportunity was taicen to bid farewell to Miss Molly Jenkins, of Auckland, and Miss Molly Muir, of Gisborne, who are leaving soon to take up missionary work in the Solomon Islands. At 6.15 p.m. an open-air meeting was held, followed by a service conducted by the Rev. A. S. Wilson, of the Grange R.oad Baptist Church. The missionary fund raised at the last Ngaruawahia Easter camp amounted to £BO. The cost of the new dining-room, £126, and of other buildings at the women’s camp, £l5O, has been paid off.
