Duncan and J. H. Perrett, this morning dealt with the appeal of the owners of the horse Owairaka in connection with a race at Whangarei a couple of months ago. The following is the official report handed to the Press:

"In the matter of the appeal by Messrs. S. G. Lindsay and W. Allen, jun., owners of the horse Owairaka, which won the Waipu Handicap run at the Whangarei Racing Club’s meeting on April 4, 1930, against the decision of the Auckland District Committee in upholding the appeal by Mr. W. Montgomery, owner of the horse Sea Cob, which ran second to Owairaka in the said Waipu Handicap, and in awarding first prize money to Sea Cob and second prize money to Owairaka in the said Waipu Handicap. The Judicial Committee of the Whangarei Racing Club decided to take no action after an inquiry relating to the apparent interference by K. Gill, rider of Owairaka, with R. S. Bagby, rider of Sea Cob, in the Waipu Handicap. "The judges having considered the appeal of Messrs. Lindsay and Allen, are unanimously of the opinion that the decision of the Auckland District Committee in awarding first prize money to Sea Cob and second prize money to Owairaka in the Waipu Handicap, run at the Whangarei Racing Club’s meeting on April 4, 1930, be and is hereby upheld. "We order the deposit on appeal to be refunded.”
