Obituary
MISS MOLLIE HUME The death has occurred at Morrinsville of Miss Mollie Hume, only daughter of the late Mr. William Hume and Mrs. Hume, Wairarapa. MR. F. OLD A well-known Taranaki settler. Mr. Frederick Old, has died at Hawera at the age of 74. Bora in New Plymouth. Mr. Old settled near the Manaia F.oad tn 1883, building a home in the bush and farming successfully until illhealth compelled him to retire 27 year* ago. He is survived by his wife, five sons and four daughters. MRS. CHRISTINA KELLY The death has occurred of Mrs. Christina Kelly at her home In Cobden Street, Newton, at the age of 90. Mrs. Kellv. who was born in Scotland, went to Adelaide about 70 years ago and came to Auckland nearly 60 years ago with her husband, the late Mr. Robert Kelly, who carried on business as an iron moulder. Mr. Kelly died 25 vears ago. Mrs. Kelly is survived by three sons and four daughters. Ther® are 2S grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren. MR. T. MAULE Mr. Thomas Maule, who has died at the Taumarunui Hospital at the age of 69. spent most of his life in the Northern Wairoa in the timber industry. Despite being over military age. he enlisted for active service in 1915 and served in Egypt and France until the Armistice. He is survived by two ! sons. A third son was killed on active j service. The funeral took place in the solj diers’ section of the Taumarunui j cemetery with full military honours. There was a large number of returned ; soldiers present, headed by the president of the local branch of the association. and the pall-bearers were six i returned men.
