ZEPPELIN RETURNING
SIR HUBERT WILKINS TAKES BELATED HONEYMOON DEPARTURE FROM AMERICA NEW YORK, Tuesday. The Graf Zeppelin left Lakehurst, New Jersey, at 10.12 p,m. yesterday for Seville. The prepaartions for her departure moved like clockwork. The movable stub mast worked perfectly, facilitating the leave-taking. The dirigible carried 23 passengers and a cew of 46 men. The weather when she left was favourable. Twelve hours after its departure the Zeppelin reported its position as 900 miles east of New York in a northwesterly wind. “The weather is clear and our appetites are good,” the message said. Among the passengers were Sir Hubert and Lady Wilkins. They said they were on a belated honeymoon. Sir Hubert said they proposed to spend a month in Switzerland and then he would begin work on a book about his four expeditions. Lady Wilkins carried a small black cat whose white paws and whiskers, she said, would bring good luck. Sir Hubert and his wife found a honeymoon cake on their table when they entered the dirigible.
