ANTI-FREEZE SOLUTION

TWO SIMPLE RECIPES Several country motorists have been inquiring about anti-freezing solutions. The possibility of the water in the cooling system freezing can be avoided by putting glycerine in the water. The amount of glycerine to add depends on the degree of frost the solution is expected to withstand. One part by volume of glycerine to four parts ol water are proof against 10 degrees of frost, while one part of glycerine to three parts of watet will withstand 16 degrees of frost. Another anti-freezing mixture is methyiatea spirits and water in the same proportions, but the spirit evaporates rapidly. The easiest way to avoid cracked cylinders, due to freezing, is to drain all the water from the system before leaving the car overnight. A German inventor has patented an arrangement whereby two speedometers can be driven from the gearbox. One is in the usual place, and the other, with a huge dial, is at the rear for the edification, of other drivers.
