I EVENING AT DIXIELAND I Tho annual dance of the Sacred | Heart College Old Boys* Association was held last evening: at Dixieland Cabaret. The artistic decorations made a delightful background for the pretty frocks worn. The latest dance numbers were { played by tho Dixieland Dance Band. Among those present were:— Mrs. C. H. Meek, rose-pink taffeta: Miss Siiumonds, black georgette over lacquer red; Mrs. Sborland. fuchsia figured ring velvet; Miss Woolley, obi gold taffeta and frilled chiffon: Miss D. Ross, gold embroidered net over primrose satin; Miss Ruth Walker, black silk lace; Miss O. Caster, powder blue georgette; Miss Audrey Gray, jade green georgette and taffeta; Miss Edna Smith, cameo pink chiffon; Mrs. N. O. Sneddon, ash blue satin; Miss FJla Brown, scarlet lace frock: Miss Bulu Drysdale, floral lace corsage and pink net skirt banded with satin ribbon; Miss Marie Yaguseh, lettuce green satin with georgette panels: Miss Joan Rogers, delphinium blue georgette; Mrs. Clarke, rod and gold lace frock, Miss I. Foley, lemon taffeta, with hand-painted floral design; Miss Bathgate, brown chiffon velvet: Miss Madge Hanfling, cherry georgette with embossed velvet coatee; Miss Thelma Hanfling, peach panne velvet embroidered with rhinestones; Miss C. Young, sunset georgette banded with embossed chenille georgette: Miss Anita Stuherland, primrose taffeta; Mrs. Taylor, black georgette embroidered in jet and silver. SOCIAL EVENING OFFICERS AND N.C.O.’S OF 29TH COMPANY The officers and N.C.O.’s of the 29tli Company held a social evening in Nairn’s Tearooms on Saturday. Lieutenant and Mrs. Hill acted as host and hostess. Members and many friends enjoyed tha evening, which was spent in playing games and dancing. Music was supplied by a gramophone. Various competitions were given, winners of which received prizes. The supper was in the able hands of Lieut. Robertson. Eergeant-Alajor Tansley. and Sergeant Forrest. At supper Lieut. Hill proposed the toast to his Majesty, King George. Toasts were proposed to members of the Y.M.C.A. and Power Board shooting teams, which were ably replied to by Mr. Miller on behalf of the Y.AI.C.A. and Mr. Coward on behalf of the Power Board. Visitors from other companies included Major Ansell, Captain and Mrs. Gwilliam, Sergeant-Major Green, Sergeant Young. A pleasant evening was concluded by all joining and singing the National Anthem and “Auld Lang Syne.’*
