HEAD-ON COLLISION

SMASH AT OTAHUHU A head-oil collision occurred outside the Passenger Transport Company's garage, Great South Road, Otabubu, this morning, between two motorcars. A large passenger bus was coming out of the garage and when partly across the road the driver noticed a car approaching. He pulled up to allow it to pass. Another car was travelling in the opposite direction and the drivers of the cars did not notice each other until they were a few feet away. The two cars met head-on. The engine and chassis of both cars were completely wrecked. One of the car 3 was owned by Mr. Scott, a taxi-driver, from Te Awamutu. None of the passengers was injured. Mr. Scott’s car was full of racegoers on their way to Ellerslie.
