SPEEDING UP BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION BUS SERVICE HELD UP Not satisfied with the progress that the Public Works Department is making with the construction of the bridges on the Waterfront Roadway, Cr. G. W. Hutchison will ask the City Councii to urge a speeding up. Cr. Hutchison will move: “That in view of the urgent desire of residents in the Orakei and Tamaki districts for the early commencement of a bus service via the Waterfront Road to the city, and the large amount of capital expenditure by the City Council which remains unremunerative while the permanent bridges on the road referred to axe uncompleted, the Public Works Department be urged to complete these bridges with the greatest possible expedition.”
