LOWER WOOL PRICES

CAUSE DROP IN WAGES SYDNEY, Monday. The fall in wool prices has forced the Graziers’ Association to seek a variation of shearers’ wages and the Commonwealth Arbitration Court is being asked to reduce the wages for all classes of shearing by 30 per cent. Alternatively the court is asked to suspend the award for one year. One reason for the application is that the price of greasy wool lias dropped ! from lSd to lOd. which is lower than i the cost of production. Another reason i is the fall in the price of sheep and | sheepskins. The hearing of the case has been adjourned.
