DISAPPROVAL EXPRESSED AT DUNEDIN POLICE COMPLAIN Cress Association DUNEDIN. Today. Drinking by men and women together in a number of hotels was the chief complaint of the police to th annual meeting of the Dunedin Licesing Committee. It was reported that while some licensees prohibited mixed drinkin" others encouraged it. The police also reported that in consequence of the prosecution of bookmakers for illicit business in home* and offices, they were extending th*»ir operations to hotel bars. Some licensees encouraged this for trade pu: poses.

The committee expressed strong drapproval of mixed drinking as nudes: able, and tending to lead to improper situations.
