TAKAPUNA’S BAND
NEW PRACTICE ROOM OPENED VOLUNTARY WORK Although actually in use for some weeks past, the new bandroom of the Takapuna Municipal Band was not officially opened until Saturday afternoon last. He paid a tribute to the civic spirit of those citizens who had given their*time and skill to the erection of the bandroom. Mr. G. F. McFlinn, deputy-chairman of the band committee, thanked the members of the Takapuna Borough Council for their interest and financial support of a project that had long exercised the minds of the band committee, and had at last been accomplished. He made special mention of the work of Mr. A. H. Wilkie in regard to the financing of the scheme. Other speakers included Crs. B. C. Hart and J. Collins, members„of the Takapuna Borough Council, and Mr. M. L. Wilkins.
