BOXING ASSOCIATIONS BROUGHT TO BOOK PURSES INCREASED Special to JHE SIN WELLINGTON. Thursday. The Gisborne Boxing Association was the first body to draw the New Zealand s Association’s attention to breaches of the rules governing boxin which the Gisborne Association alleged that the principal association bad been offenders. It was stated that although the rules laid down that the maximum purse should not exceed Vl5O except in the case of oversea boxers, when the New Zealand Council might permit associations to increase the amount by £SO. as much as £1 had been paid in connection witll certain Sarron-Donovan fights. Under Part V. of the rules of boxing offending associations are liable to a line not exceeding. £lO or suspension. as the council may decide. Under A 11., which deals with variouoffences and appeals.
