BOXING IN NEW YORK

LA BARBA WINS BOUT

. NEW YORK, Wednesday. In a boxing contest at New York, La Barba, ex-fly-weight champion, defeated Graham on points in ten rounds. La Barba won easily against his veteran opponent. The winner is regarded as likely to meet Kid Chocolate for the featherweight championship. In a preliminary bout Dundee, ex-welter-weiglit champion, defeated Parry Mason (England) on points in ten rounds. At Indianapolis George Cook (Australia) defeated “Chuck” Wiggins (Indianapolis) on points in ten rounds. Cook was the aggressor, and showed superiority throughout. He seemed to allow Wiggins to hang on until the final round, when he gave him a terrific beating. In a contest at Chicago, Von Porat knocked out Gagnon in the sixth round. The winner started slowly, but completely crushed Gagnon with heavy rights, and earned a thoroughly impressive victory.
