WHANGAREI CONGRATULATIONS Special to THE SUN WHANGAREI, Thursday. Reference to the elevation of the Hon. A. J. Murdoch to Cabinet rank was made at the annual meeting of the Whangarei County Council today. “As chairman,” said Air. L. Webb, “1 wish to compliment Mr. Murdoch. The records show that we have not Lad a Minister of the Crown representing Marsden since the Hoi E. Mitchelson (now Sir Edwin Mitclielson), was Minister of Public Works in the eighties. I propose that we should send our congratulations to Mr. Murdoch.’ The motion was carried. It was decided to co-operate with ether local bodies in arranging a complimentary • function to Mr. Murdoch.
