FULL TEAM SELECTED FOUR AUCKLANDERS CHOSEN Press Association WELLINGTON, Thursday. The New Zealand team which will compete at the Empire Games in Canada from August 1G to 23 will comprise 10 oarsmen, four athletes, and

thrbe swimmers. This decision was reached this evening at a meeting of the British Empire Games Committee. The team will comprise, in addition to the rowing eight and two reserves, the following athletes: A. Lay (Hawera), javelin thrower. A. J. Elliott (Auckland), 100 and 200 me Ires. W. J. Savidan (Auckland), 5,000 and 10,000 metres. R. O. Johnson (Dunedin), hop, step, and jump. The following swimmers will make the trip: Miss G. E. Pidgeon (Auckland), 200 yards breast-stroke. R. C. Calder (Dunedin), high and springboard diving. G. Bridson (Auckland). 100 yards, 400 yards, and 1,500 yards. The rowing team will assemble at Wanganui on June 10. It was stated there were no boxers up to standard. The appointment of a manager was deferred. team will sail from Auckland by the Aorangi on July 1. Athletic and swimming associations ere to be informed that it would be necessary to find .£135 for each representative sent to the games. The Olympic Games Association is to be asked to give £SOO.
