PRESENTATION

FUNCTION AT NGARUAWAHIA A large number of railway officials and business men assembled in the Alasonic Hall, Ngaruawahia, to farewell Air. S. J. Webb, who is leaving the employ of the New Zealand Railways after 40 years’ service. Mr. N. 11. Itawson, who presided, invited the Mayor, Mr. H. J. Sampson, to make a presentation. After detailing at length Air. Webb’s courtesy as an official, his enthusiasm in all social and local activities, the Alayor presented him with a gold wristlet watch, together with a tea and dinner set for Airs. Webb. Air. W'ebb suitably replied. A number of toasts were honoured during the evening and a number of orchestral, vocal and elocutionary items given.
