His Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral, Lord Bledisloe, returned from Wellington by the Limited express this morning. This evening he will attend a smoke concert given by the Auckland Returned Soldiers’ Association in Scots Hall. Her Excellency returned from Hamilton yesterday and visited the Community Sunshine School, Nels.on Street, this morning. At noon Lady Bledisloe attended a meeting of the League of Mothers at the Y.W.C.A. Mr. S. Jennings, of Dunedin, arrived by the express this morning. Judge Acheson, of the Native Land Court, arrived by the Limited today. Mr. Alan Donald returned from Wellington by the Limited express this morning. The Hon. C. J. Carrington. M.L.C., was a passenger to Auckland by the Limited today. Mr. J. S. Brigham, Town Clerk of Auckland, who has been indisposed, resumed his duties yesterday. Mr. J. W. McEwen was yesterday unanimously re-elected chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board.—P.A. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Alison and their two daughters will leave for England on the next trip of the Niagara. They will be away for six months. Mr. J. B. Thomas, who has been a member of the Thames Valley Power Board since its inception eight years ago, has resigned on account of illhealth. Mr. 11. Hunt, art director of a New York advertising firm with branches all over the world, has arrived in Wellington and will spend a holiday in New Zealand. Mr. W. Dennis, a. ranch owner, of Texas, arrived in Wellington from Sydney by the Ulimaroa. Accompanied by his wife, he will spend some time in New Zealand. Mr. John Fuller, accompanied by Mr. William Douglas, general manager of the Fuller firm, were passengers from. Sydney by the Ulimaroa. They are at present in Wellington. The Rt. Rev. F. A. Bennett, Bishop of Aotearoa, entered King George V. Hospital, Rotorua, yesterday, to undergo an operation for an internal complaint. Mr. T. B. Strong.
