MR. F. G. GIBSON TOPS POLL IN BY-ELECTION LITTLE INTEREST SHOW N Little interest was shown by electorin the by-election held yesterday t«> till the extraordinary vacancy upon the Takapuna Borough Council, caused tithe resignation of Mr. J W. Hayden Only 1.309 electors out of more than 4,000 recorded their votes. Owing to a heavy block vote at both Milford and Takapuna Central. Mr. F. G. Gibson was able to secure a substantial majority over Mr. M. Blampied. Bayswater. A former member of the council, M J. I>avis. was last upon the poll, tk results of which were declared w .?*•:* 40 minutes of closing. The results were:—F. G. Gibson. 6>4 M. Blampied, 436: J. I>avis. _*49. Mr. Gibson will take his seat at th meeting of the council to be held on Wednesday of next week.
