METHODS OF VOTING
LABOUR PARTY’S VIEWS P.R. NOT FAVOURED Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today. When answering a question regarding methods of voting, last evening, Mr. H. E. Holland, leader of the Labour Party, said he was not in favour of preferential voting as at present in force. In connection with the Australian Federal elections, the Labour Party' had been for years in favour of proportional representation, but there was no need to change the present system if the working classes of the country nut themselves solidly behind Labour. Labour could be returned to power under the present system if it received solid support.
