STUD EWES FOR VICTORIA
AUCKLAND FLOCK SOLD A deal of wide interest to sheepbreeders has been put through this week; Mr. John Burns’s Huanua stud nock of Southdown ewes has been sold to Messrs. Mathews Jacombs and Coy., Auckland, for shipment to Melbourne. Messrs. Shipherd Bros., Aka Aka. In all cases we report good sales, with a keen demand for choice and good dairy cows and heifers and other classes of cattle at late rates. We quote: Choice dairy cows and heifers, £l4 to £22; good, £l9 to £l3 15s; others, £6 10s to £9 15s; aged cows and inferior heifers, £3 to £6 ss; bulls, £3 to £9 ss, according to weight; weaner heifers, £2 to £4 10s- weaner steers, £1 15s to £3 17s (id; yearling to 18-months heifers, £4 15s to £7 10s; yearling to 18-monfh steers £4 to £5 10s; 2to 2Jyr. steers, C 5 15s to £6 17s (id; 3 to 3J-year steers, £7 to £8 10s; grown steers in forward condition. £8 15s to £9 13s.
