“FORGET-ME-NOT DAY”
SUNSHINE ASSOCIATION’S APPEAL SICK CHILDREN’S NEEDS For the purpose of raising; funds to carry on work among the children. th«t Community Sunshine Association Is holding a “Forget-me-not Day” street collection on Friday. The association exists entirely for the sake of sick and needy children. Its principal activities are the community club, where the children are taught useful arts and crafts, and the sunshine school, which is now being occupied by children sent from the hospitals and who require special treatment. The sunshine treatment is given daily on the roof, with rest periods, and special attention is given to diet. The Government has provided a nurse, who visits homes and advises parents on home treatment of children, and also a special teacher. This year more funds are needed to make provision for more sick children, and the association appeals to the public to give the street collection on Friday its full support.
Bir George Richardson will speak over the air from IYA this evening on the work of the association. Lady Bledisloe will visit the school tomorrow morning.
