NEW MEMBERS ADMITTED A meeting of the executive committee of the New Zealand Society of Accountants was held recently, wjien new members were admitted to the society. The following were made members: —Miss D. M. R. Roller and Mr. A. S. Stevens, of Auckland; Mr. E. V. Riesterer, of Hamilton; Messrs. W. J. Crowtlier, I. J. Mackersey and A. F. H. Sutherland, of Wellington; Messrs. A. H. Abernethy and H. G. West, of Wanganui; Mr. G. E. Stiles, of Palmerston North; Mr. J. Haisman, of Gisborne; Miss M. Turner and Messrs. H. H. P. Ballantyne and J. H. Pickles, of Christchurch; and Mr. G. F. Gardiner, of Napier.

As the outcome of a resolution passed at the last general meeting of members, resolving to set up an employment register, forms of registration were approved, and members seeking employment, or a change of employment, may obtain the necessary form from the local branch secretaries of the society’.

Arrangements were made whereby bound volumes containing full reports of the addresses given and the discussions thereon at the recent International Congress of Accounting, held in New York, will be made available to members through the various district branch libraries.

A cablegram conveying the congratulations of the society’- had been dispatched to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales on the occasion of its jubilee meeting.
