WAKATERE'S LAST BERTH.—The old paddle-steamer Wakatere is to be broken up for scrap metal. After 30 years in the Auckland-Thames service she was laid-up in “rotten row,” four years ago. She is now at Julian’s Wall, Freeman’s Bay, where her engines are to be taken out. Her steel hull will be sunk.
