CRICKETERS GO ON TO MAKE ONE RUN FARCE IN COUNTY MATCH Reed. 10.40 a.m. LONDON, Friday. The county cricket match between Nottingham and Hampshire ended in a burlesque. Hampshire at 6.30 p.m. on Thursday needed 39 runs to win. Half an hour’s extension was granted, and when it had expired a single run was needed for a victory, but stumps were pulled. The. crowd assembled in front of the pavilion, hut play was not resumed. The next morning Carr led Nottingham on to the field dressed in lounge suits and soft hats. The bowlers, Voco and Bai'ratt, were not taking any risks of the weather, and wore overcoats. Kennedy drove the second hall, but did not attempt to run, while the fieldsmen watched the ball slowly trickle to the boundary.
