AUSTRALIANS WIN
GOOD MARGIN IN GAME WITH DERBYSHIRE HOME TEAM OUT FOR 181 Reed. 10.5 a.m. LONDON, Friday. Play in the cricket match between the Australians and Derbyshire was resumed this morning in tine weather. The wicket was good. Mainly due to Hornibrook’s splendid bowling, Australia needed only 49 runs tor a victory. Ponsford and Jackson, who batted' as though fighting for runs, scored these without loss. The Australian bowlers made full use of the wicket. Ford and Townsend batted splendidly, but the others offered little resistance. Wall’s deliveries were very fast. Hornibrook’s figures should have been much better, but his length was inconsistent and several chances were not accepted by the fieldsmen. The Queenslander is now only four wickets behind Grimmett’s total.
