Public Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of Sections 77 to inclusive of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, Sections 51 to 55 inclusive of the Rating Act. 1925, Section 50 of the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, Section 14 of the Public Health Act, 1920, Section 56 of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage, Act, 1908, and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, the One Tree Hill Borough Council, intends on WEDNESDAY, June 18, 1930, to make and levy the following rates for the year commencing on April 1, 1930, and ending on March 31, 1931: — 1. A General Rate of One Shilling and Twopence (Is 2d) in the £. 2. A Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of Sixpence (6d) in the £. 3. A Lighting Rate of Twopence Farthing (2ld) in the £ upon the annual rateable value upon all property as appearing in the Valuation Roll for the time oeing in force in the Borough of One Tree Hill. 4. A Drainage Rate of Twopence (2d) in the £ oiy the annual value of all pro- j perty in the Drainage Area as defined by the Auckland Suburban j Drainage Act, 190 S. 5. A Sanitation Rate of Ten Shillings. (10s) on each property, tenement, shop, flat, or other building from | which the Council is prepared to remove refuse. 6. -V Sanitation Rate of Two Pounds Four Shillings (£2 4s) upon ail properties outside the Drainage Area from which the Council is prepared to remove j nightsoil. 7. WATER RATES—(a) Water where charged by meter, a rate of One Shilling and Sixpence (Is 6d) per 1,000 gallons, with a , minimum charge of One Pound Ten • Shillings (£1 10s). (b) Upon all lands and buildings to ! which water can be but is not eup- , plied situate within 100 yards from j any part of the Waterworks, a rate j of Five Shillings (ss) where the Annual value does not exceed Twelve \ Pounds Ten • Shillings, and where ; such annual value exceeds Twelve I Pounds Ten Shillings, a rate of Two Per Centum (2 per cent.) upon the annual rateable value. S. Special Rates will be collected as follows:Interest Account No. 2, Threepence Half-penny (3Jd). Interest Account No. 7, One Shilling and One Penny (Is Id). Interest Account No. S, One Shilling and One Penny Halfpenny (Is lid). Interest Account No. 9, Twopence (2d). The foregoing rates, with the exception of water charges by meter (payable halfyearly on June 1, and December 1), to be payable in one sum on the -28th day of June, 1930, at the Council Office, 456 Manukau Road, One Tree Hill, to Arthur Leese, the Council’s Collector, or to such other person as may be appointed to collect the same. The estimates upon which the abovementioned rates are being struck, having been approved by the Council, are, together with the Valuation Roll, open for inspection at the Council Office during office hours (Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 noon).
