Applications are invited for Three Research Fellowships, tenable at Onderstepoort Veterinary Research Laboratory, Pretoria. These Fellowships have been j established by Empire Marketing Board 1 in conjunction with Government of Union of South Africa. Candidates will be required in each case to furnish proofs that they are familiar with particular aspects of Research, namely:— First.—Fellowship methods of tissue culture and work with filterable Viruses. Second. Fellowship Bacteriological work and physiology of animals, especially ruminants. Third.—Fellowship method of extracting toxic substance from plants and determining nature of such substance. Selection will be made by Committee consisting of President of Royal Society, High Commissioner for Union of South Africa in London, Chairman of Research Grant Committee, Empire Marketing Board, and' Director of Imperial Bureau Animal Health. Fellowships will be tenable for period of three years, with possibility of renewal for a period of two years. Remuneration will normally be at a rate not less than £BOO and not more than £I,OOO per annum, but special consideration may be given to candidates whose qualifications and other circumstances warrant a higher rate. Each successful candidate will be provided with free passage for himself and his family from his place of residence to Pretoria. Duties should commence as early as possible. During tenure of Fellowship holder will be responsible to Director, Onderstepoort Laboratory.
