ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME AT SOCIAL EVENING An enjoyable evening was held by members 4 o Z the Alpine Sports Club at Miss Johnson’s Ballroom, Omahu Road, Remuera. on Thursday, May 22. Airs! K. M. Griffin acted as hostess. Those who contributed to the programme were:—Mr. A. D. Jeffery, who gave an interesting lecturette on “Rua - pehu from Ohakune side”; Miss G. McAneny. who sang "Flower Song” (E’aust) and "Requiem” (R. A. Horne), aid Miss A. Higginson, who sang “Solveig Song” (Greig) and “The Lass With the Delicate Air” (M. Arne): while Miss Hilda Morse gave two dramatic sketches. Miss L. Braitliwaite was the accompaniste. Much amusement was provided by . n impromtpu debate, the subject being “Tramping Versus Motoring.” Professor Algie was in the chair, and those taking part were Misses G. Tilly, X. Jowitt and Messrs. W. L. Thomson. S. Leatliam, A. Bellamy and B. Spencer. After supper dancing was indulged in till midnight, during the course of which Mrs. W. J. A. Thomson played ; polonaise and Miss Myra Emanuel several popular numbers. Among those present were: Mrs. R. M. Algie, Mrs. W. J. A. Thomson. Mrs. James, Mrs. Rupert Morton, and Misses (iladys HcAneny, Audrey Higginson. Lillian Braithwaite, Elsie Jv. Morton, Hilda Morse, Gladys Tilly, Nene Jowitt. Myra Emanuel.
