MR. FORBES AND CABINET
TO BE SWORN IN ON WEDNESDAY CALL ON THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL FE Prime Minister elect, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, who had been sent for by the Governor-General. Lord Bledisloe. arrived in Auckland this morning and immediately called on his Excellency at Government House.
Mr. Forbes was informed that his Excellency had received Sir Joseph Ward’s resignation, and also those of the members of his Cabinet. As Prime M mister-elect Mr. Forbes will submit a Cabinet to the Governor-General at Wellington at half-past ten on Wednesday morning. The Prime Minister and his Cabinet will be sworn in on Wednesday at a time yet to be arranged. Mr. Forbes arrived from Wellington by the Limited shortly before halfpast ten this morning and, accom-

Mr. Forbes stated that he had been asked by bis Excellency to form a Cabinet, the. names of which he will submit to his Exeellencv at Wellington on Wednesday morning. Lord Bledisloe having intimated that he will proceed to Wellington for that purpose. Later in the day Mr. Forbes will attend with the members of the Cabinet, when th< Prime Minister and Cabinet will bt sworn in. Shortly after his jeturn. from Government House Mr. Forbes, accompanied by Mr. Thomson and Mr. A. ■\V. Mulligan, his private *• secretary, left by car for Rotorua, where Mr. Forbes will call upon Sir Joseph Ward. He will return to Wellington by the Limited express on Sunday evening, joiniug the train -at Hamilton. - - -
Mr. Forbes stated that, all memb s of the. Cabinet, -who were carrying on until the new Cabinet wa.s appoint, d, would be in Wellington on Tuesday. Referring to an article in The Sun in which it was stated that there had been 22 Prime Ministers in New Zealand, the Prime Minister-elect also recalled the fact that there were five ex-Prime Ministers still livin Robert Stout, Sir Joseph Ward, Sir William Hall-Jones, Sir Francis Bell and the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates.
