HORSES FOR TAUMARUNUI From Our Oxen Correspondent TE AROMA, Today. On the tracks yesterday morning, Miss Albyn put in slow work and Glenison was sprinted over short dashes. Indolent showed pace in his sprinting work, and Black Maire was allotted trotting and cantering on the old course proper. Fie is keeping quite sound, and is generally anxious to increase the pace. The Weather vane—Panama filly, and a half brother by Lucullus to Sir Russell were sprinted two furlongs twice, the former getting away very nimbly and showing the possession of speed. G. A. Reid brought his team back to Te Aroha from Wanganui on Tuesday. He may not take any horses down to Taumarunui this week, but will be represented at the Auckland winter meeting. Taurimu. White Ringlet and Bahama have been taken down to Taumarunui. The last-named scored there at the last meeting, and in the matter of “horses for courses” may run well this week.
