It was decided that with the surplus money two scholarships be? awarded in obstetrics, one to be known as the Obstetrical Society’s Scholarship and the other as the Auckland Scholarship, in recognition of Auckland’s exceptional response. Sir Thomas Sidey said he hoped it would be possible to subsidise these valuable scholarships, which would make it possible for each scholarship to be of sufficient value to give c. young New Zealand doctor two years’ post-graduate experience in obstetrics in the large centres abroad. Congratulations were received from Lady JBledisloe, on behalf of the Gov-ernor-General, Lord Bledisloe, ancl herself, on the success of the appeal and the indefatigable efforts of the workers.
