SHOP GUTTED BY FIRE

OUTBREAK AT STRATFORD HEAVY LOSS OF STOCK Press Association STRATFORD, Today. Fire early this morning completely gutted the fancy goods shop of W. G. Clark in Broadway. The flames had a good hold when the brigade arrived, but they were confined to the one shop, which is in the middle of a big block of wooden buildings, so that a serious conflagration would have followed but for the prompt action of the brigade. Clark's stock was completely destroyed. It was insured for £1,450 in the State Office, but was valued at about £SOO more. The building was insured for £BOO tn the Standard .Office
