NEW LINE TO START
PACIFIC SLOPE-N.Z. TRADE FIRST SHIP EN ROUTE A report received in Auckland a few weeks ago that a new line was to operate in the trade between the Pacific Coast and New Zealand was confirmed yesterday. Dalgety and Company, Limited, is in receipt of cabled advice that the Norwegian motor-ship Dagfred. under charter to the North Pacific Australian Line, cleared Los Angeles on May 9 with a cargo of general merchandise from Pacific Slope ports for discharge at Noumea. Auckland. Newcastle. Sydney, Alelbourne and Adelaide. She is expected to reach Auckland on June 2. The line is already running vessels between the Pacific Coast and Australia. The Dagfred. which is a ship of 4.4c0 tons gross register and a new vessel, is the first ship to'sail in the new service. which is expected to be a monthly one.
