SEVEN THEFT CHARGES

TWO YEAR’S PROBATION A dental mechanic, aged 27. from South Africa. Ross de Villiers, was admitted to probation for two years when lie appeared before Air. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the Police Court yesterday, for sentence on six charges of failing to account for sums of money and one charge of theft. The offences had been committed in December. 1929. and January and February, 1930. De Villiers was charged with the theft of a vacuum cleaner valued at £23 10s, belonging to Electric Imports Limited. The six charges of failing to account for sums • eceived on behalf of Electric Imports Limited, were in respect of a total amount of £46 ISs. “I have had a report from the probation officer and I have decided to give this young man a chance, saici the magistrate, admitting de.
