FRANKTON STOCK SALES SMALLER BEEF YARDING Special to THE SUN HAMILTON, Tuesday. There was a smaller yarding than usual of beef at the Frankton stock sale today, the quality being only generally fair. Prim© bullocks, prime cows and heifers sold at prices on a par with last week’s rates. A small yarding of store cattle realised average prices. Fat sheep were yarded in average numbers, the prices remaining unchanged. There was a medium yarding of fat pigs, which sold at late rates, and of Store pigs, which realised slightly improved rates. The auctioneers report as follows;

Dalgety and Company. Limited.—We sold medium-weight fat steers at £3O 10s; prime young cows, £8 to £9 2s 6d; ordinary fat cows, £6 to £7 2s 6d; light Jersey cows, £5 to £5 16s; boner cows, £3; good quality Shorthorn heifers in calf, £7 ss; Jersey-cross weaner well-grown heifers, £3 10s; dairy cows and heifers, £7 10s to £9 10s; forward wethers, 225; aged ewes in lamb, 12s 3d; heavy baconers, from £ 3 to £3 10s; medium, £2 16s to £3; best porkers, £2 10s to £2 16s; light, 35s to £2; choppers, to £4 ss; large stores, £1 4s 6d to £1 11s 6d; slips, 16s 6d to £l, weaners, 10s to 13s 6d.

Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited.—-A medium yarding of cattle and sheep. Ox beef sold at slightly increased rates, while cow beef, of which there was no prime quality yarded, sold at, late rates. Fat and store sheep quotations were practically the same as last week. There was a good yarding of baconers, porkers and store pigs, late rates being maintained throughout.
