INTOXICATED CYCLIST PUNISHED CRASHED INTO WORKMEN From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. Pleading guilty to a charge of riding his motor-cycle while intoxicated, a young man, James Hamlin White, of East Tamaki, was fined .£lO and had his licence, cancelled for 12 months in the Magistrate’s Court today. The case was the sequel to an accident which occurred on the brewery corner on April 24, when White skidded on his motor-cycle when turning from Victoria Street into Bridge Street and crashed into several workmen sitting at lunch. As the result one, Tallas, had his leg broken and one. Hughes, was bruised badly. The barrier and shed were damaged and White himself received extensive injuries. Accused told the police that he had had a few whiskies at a Hamilton hotel, but he was not drunk. He added that he was a dairy hand and the cancellation of his licence would deprive him of employment.
