WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

WAIOTAHI BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Waiotahi Women’s Institute was held in the Waiotahi Hall on Wednesday afternoon, there being a fair attendance. Several letters were read, and other business disposed of, after AAdiich members gave their attention to a paper read by Mrs. J. More, of Kutarere, the subject being “Obstetrics.” Miss Mottram, a \isitor from Nukuhou, gave a demonstration of triplex AA'ork, AA'hich A\ r as much admired, and Miss Jurd delighted the gathering with an exhibition of eurythmic dancing and drill, the music being supplied by Mrs. C. Drury. Afternoon tea, dispensed by the three hostesses, brought the afternoon to a close. ENGAGEMENTS The engagement is announced of Mary Elizabeth, eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Pauli, and niece of Mr. and Mrs. T. Clarke, of Auckland Road, Onehunga, to Leonard Charles, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Whittle. Ruskin Street, Parnell. * * • The engagement is announced of Emily Lucy, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Marsh, of Paeroa, to Gifford, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Spinks, also of Paeroa. The engagement is announced of Isabel, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. McNaull, of Te Awamutu, to Frank, third son of Mr. and -Mrs. J. T. Bell. Panakura.
