TOMORROW'S RUGBY
OPINION FAVOURS ENGLAND BETTER WORK IN SCRUM Special to THE SUN' , ‘WANGANUI, Today. The general opinion concerning tomorrow's match favours the British team, principally because of the weight of the pack, which averages 14.2, against Wanganui’s 12.13. At these weights, however, the British may not be in the best fighting trim, and lack of training will, if anything, be their trouble. Superiority in hooking, even against such experienced hookers as Ralph Lowry, brother to T. C. Lowry and a Cambridge Rugby Blue of 1923, will probably give the British backs a better service of the ball than the "Wanganui backs will command. The British backs are fast, but in practice their combined -work has exhibited many defects. They run crosswise too much, leaving the penetrative thrust to the wings. Bassett, with a twisted ankle suffered at practice, is at present resting.
