VICTORIA, DEVONPORT

Universally known as one of the most successful plays of Sir J. M. Barrie, "The Old Lady Shows Her lledals" has been adapted to the screen in “Seven Hays' Leave,” and this production, a talkie, is now at the Victoria Theatre, Bevonport. The story is in the whimsical, sentimental vein for which its author is famous, dealing with a childless old lady, who finds her friends continually bragging of the successes achieved by their sons in the trenches. In sheer self-defence she invents a similar hero, declaring that Private Kenneth Dowey. whose name she sees mentioned in the newspapers, .is her son. The complications that ensue form tlie basis of an interesting plot.
