TE PUKE NOTES
At a special general meeting of the Te Puke Agricultural and Pastoral Association last week, it was decided that the annual winter show be held in July. The following executive committee was appointed:—Messrs. W. J. Law. F. Palmer, J. Neilsen. A. Barrow, A. Ryburn. .T. Persey W. Pilcher, Mesdames A. Ryburn. F. Palmer and IT. T. Cash more. Messrs. Palmer and Barrow were appointed to revise the poultry classes. Messrs. Ryburn and Neilsen the farm produce classes, and Mesdames Ryburn. Palmer and Cashmore the industrial classes. The president and Mr. A. Ryburn were appoirted delegates to attend a conference of Bay of Plenty A. and P. Associations to be held in Te Puke on June 10. The annual meeting of parishioners of Sr. John’s Anglican Church was no Id last week in the Parish Hall. The secretary of the vestry stated that up to the end of March there was a cr° i r balance of £IOO. Office-holders for the ensuing year were elected as follow* - Vicar’s warden, Mr. F. Bostoek: peoples warden, Mr. J. Persey vestrymen, Messrs. T. E. Palmer C. J. Humphreys, W. R. Toung, J. T Kingston. G. T. Simpson. J. L. Easther G bwetitman. H. Davies* and S. Cannell. ii. T. Cashniore was appointee auditor. After the annual meeting of parishioners, a farewell social was given to the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Klingender who are leaving to take up the call at Ormondville. Mr. T. E. Palmer, chairman, on behalf of members of the Church, expressed wishes for the happiness and success of the vicar and his wife in their new sphere of work, and regret at the loss the parish would suffer by their departure. He then Presented the guest with a travelling rug, the gift of members. Mr Klingender suitably responded. During the ening musical items were given b'** Mesdames Powell, Bennett. .lines and Miss Place. The suggestion of fraudulent preference of payments to certain creditor* out of insurance money received from a fire which burned down his store at Paremata was made at the creditors’ meeting of Charles Lambert ai Wellington today.
