MAN ON VERANDAH
SCARE AT REMUERA ALARM GIVEN BY NURSE When a man was found crouching on the verandah of the house of Mr. Warwick Wilson, 20 Orakei Road,, Remuera, on Friday evening, the police were notified, but the intruder escaped. A close search of the grounds and adjoining properties failed to rev.eal any trace of him. v Mr. and Mrs. Wilson were out at the time, the only adult in the house being the nurse in charge of the children. Shortly after 8 o’clock she heard a noise on the verandah, and looking out, saw a man standing there. Alarmed, she immediately rang up the house that Mrs. Wilson was visiting, told her what she had seen and asked her to come home at once. When Mrs. Wilson arrived home and rang the police there was no sign of the intruder, though the grounds were searched. Nothing was taken from the house and no attempt at entry was made.
