ARTS BALL

TO BE HELD ON JUNE 26 Judging by the preparations already in hand this year’s Arts Ball should eclipse any previous effort. Officials of the Auckland Society of Arts stated this morning that a strong committee has been working on the preliminary arrangements which were now well on the way toward completion. This year the ball will be held at Dixieland instead of at the Town Hall, and the date has been fixed at June 26. Fancy dress and original costuming is always a feature of the Arts Ball, and this year special efforts are being made to have as many as possible present in fancy dress. Four prizes are being offered for the best costumes, points being awarded for the simplest and most original costumes that best express the carnival spirit. Novel decorations are being planned.
