WOOL PUBLICITY
VIEWS OF GRAZIERS Members of the wool publicity committee appointed by the Graziers’ Federal Council of Australia met during April when the following resolutions were passed—- “ That this meeting of the wool publicity committee recommends the formation of a fund for purposes of. wool research, wool publicity, and the securing of new markets.” “That an annual levy be made of up to 2s Gd a £IOO on the proceeds of wool sold in the Commonwealth, and that the national council of woolselling brokers be strongly urged to amend its conditions of sale to provide for the collection of the levy.” “That in the event of the brokers not agreeing to tlie above, tlie Government be approached with a view to. providing the Australian -• Wool Growers’ Council with power to make and collect tlie levy.” “That in the event of the national council of wool-selling brokers agreeing to amend its conditions of sale as provided for in resolution 2, the Graziers’ Federal Council' should endeavour to arrange for collecting oil all wool shipped for sale overseas.” “That this committee is of opinion, after careful consideration, that, as far as research is concerned, the suggestions of the British Research Association for the Woollen and Worsted Industries offers the best available means at present of achieving the objects for which the levy is to be collected.” The resolutions will be submitted to the Graziers’ Federal Council of Australia in Brisbane in June.
