WELLINGTON WEDDING SHADES OF PINK MAKE PRETTY COLOUR HARMONY
DUNCAN—SEARLE A wedding of Auckland interest was recently celebrated at St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, Wellington, when Irene, elder daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. A. Searle, of Wellington, was married to Leatham Elgin, second son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Duncan, of Auckland. Canon P. James officiated. The bride, who was accompanied by her uncle, Mr. W. Lark, wore a frock of ivory georgette, over pale pink, appliqued with pastel shades of taffeta, gracefully draped to the ankle. Her veil formed a train and was fastened on either side of the head with orange blossoms, and sue carried a sheaf of pink gladiolas afid roses, which added the necessary touch of colour. The bridesmaids were Misses Melba Duncan and Yvonne Jaques-Black-more, both wearing frocks of salmon pink floral taffeta with felt hats to tone and carrying sheaves of autumn tints, gladioli and roses. The little flower-girl, Barbara McCartney, was dressed in pale pink georgette and carried a basket of pink and lavender sweet peas, and Robert Lark, page boy, wore a 'f.-eam satin suit. Mr. J. Hinton-Ottoway was best man, and Mr. J. Kirkpatrick groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Basin Reserve Pavilion. Mrs*. Searle, who received the guests, wore a frock of black georgette with
a floral georgette coatee and hat match, and carried a bouquet of r roses and maiden-hair fern.
