A PROGRESSIVE CONCERN In spit© of the busines depression of the past 12 months, the seventh annual report of the New Zealand Perpetual Forests, Limited, shows a very sat’*sfactory position; the profit for the year, after making ample provision for depreciation and maintenance of forests, is shown at £18,874; the Maintenance Reserve Funds held by the trustees for the bondholders as a guarantee against fulfilment by the company of its contract with the bondholders amounts to £455,952; these funds, all of which are invested in first-class securities, have grown during the year by no less than £144,171. The company’s reserves for planting and maintenance of its forests amounts to £1,052,835. Since the commencement of its operations, the company has efficiently afforested a net area of 117,950 acres, and is at present engaged in carrying out its 1930 planting programme.
Shareholders are to participate in a dividend at the rate of 8 per cent.
