CAR BURNED ON ROAD

DRIVER JUMPS CLEAR From Our Own Correspondent PALMERSTON N., Toda3'. Hearing a loud report, and seeing a sheet of flame bursting through the footboards of his car, Mr. A. S. Gooding, of Palmerston North, jumped for safety from the vehicle. He struck his head on a stone as he fell and was unconscious for a few minutes and was badly bruised. The car was still moving when he jumped out and it continued on its way for about two chains before colliding with a rock at the side of the road. It was completely destroyed by fire.
