Rugby Game Revived at American Varsity After 55- Year Break

The revival last mouth of Rugby i football at Yale University (U.S.A.), j after a lapse of 55 years, was wit- i nessed by nearly 2,000 spectators, who saw the recently formed Yale fifteen overcome the Philadelphia Marines by 7 to 0, on a field goal by George Jagb and a goal from mark by Cecil Bullock midway in the second half. James Smith, son of Pop Smith, Yale mascot a half century ago. is believed to have been the only person present who saw the last game. The experiment of introducing Rugby football as a regulation sport in the athletic programme of Yale University, which has now 17 Varsity teams, was pronounced worthy of continuation, and Yale will play a schedule of four more games this spring before a decision is reached on installing Rugby permanently.
