FOR CHARITY'
Miss Edith Dawkins, daughter of Lady Bertha Dawkins, a lady-in-wait-ing to the Queen, is a keen worker in the cause of charity. Her latest venture is to set herself the task of collecting £IOO.OOO for the Bromptou Hospital for Consumption, and, being a determined young woman, she is quite convinced that she will be able to carry her scheme through. FAMOUS PEARLS The Crown Princess of Italy, on the day of her wedding, became the owner of a collection of pearls which includes some of the most priceless specimens in the world. Queen Margherita of Italy bequeathed her famous pearls to her graudson, the Crown Prince, to be given by him to his bride. The gems are the result of many years* collecting by all the wellknown pearl dealers in the world, for every year King Humbert used to give Queen Margherita a short string of pearls or one large pearl.
